National Faith HomeBuyers' ministry is to help families realize the American Dream of Homeownership. Since 1997, NFH has helped over 2000 families become first time homeowners and economically independent. Despite the economic chaos in our largest market, Detroit, only 6 of our clients have lost their homes through foreclosure - a stunningly low .4%!!

Homeownership provides not only direct benefits to families, but it also provides broader social and economic benefits to our entire nation. Homeownership is the principal pathway to economic stability for our families. Children of homeowners have lower drop out rates, lower rates of teen pregnancy, and lower rates of juvenile delinquency!
Beyond the direct beneficiaries, homeownership drives national wealth building. Growth in homeownership rates creates demand for housing and provides appreciation and home equity. This demand for housing acts as a catalyst for the entire economy, creating construction jobs, jobs linked to fixtures and home goods, and various other jobs in the home service industry. Home equity is the primary source of start up capital for new businesses, providing an easy catalyst for the entire economy. Many families use the equity in their homes to fund college education reducing the strain on federal grant programs. Finally, homeownership allows many families to break the cycle of dependence on government programs such as Section 8 and Aid for Dependent Children! Although homeownership is not a cure all, it is the most efficient way to stimulate our local and national economies.
